Flora Velasquez was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Flora earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in San Juan De Dios College in the Philippines. Flora later moved to Chicago, Illinois to complete her clinical practice. She has previously worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a Surgical Intensive Care and Post Anesthesia Recovery Room as a Staff Nurse. Flora later moved to Hawaii and worked as a Manager for Post-Anesthesia Recovery Room and as Surgical Supervisor. She later went back to school, attending the University of Hawaii, earning her Master’s degree in Nursing. As a partner of Blue Water Resources, LLC, Flora serves as the clinical adminstrator.
When asked what she enjoys most about being an RN in this field she said that “being a nurse, it has opened a lot of doors; opportunities to grow not only professionally as well as personally. I have seen, felt and touched human lives and made a difference in someone’s life”. In her spare time, Flora enjoys swimming, spending time with family and traveling.
Words of wisdom: “Sharing comes in various ways: time, money, wisdom of words. A lot of times come but in actuality, it has to come from your heart. Every day we should pause and take a deep breath and look up to say thank you to whatever you believe in”.

Sarah Suzuki, RN BSN MBA CCM, has been in the healthcare field for over 20 years in 3 different states, including Hawaii. Since establishing Blue Water Resources, LLC in 2002, Sarah along with her business partner, Flora Velasquez, has been serving the communities throughout the state of Hawaii.
Sarah earned a BSN in Nursing and MBA in Business Administration. She also hold a Certification in Case Management and the Adult Residential Care Home Program. Sarah has held managerial positions at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu and the Hawaii Outcomes Institute (HOH) also located in Honolulu. She has also shared her knowledge with future medical assistant students by teaching classes at Heald College (Honolulu campus) and Kaplan Review Center (Honolulu, HI).
Sarah is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare Executive (ACHE), Case Management Society of America (CMSA), National Association for Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Hawaii Business Education Association (HBEA) and Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honorary Society).
Currently, Sarah is the President of the Case Management Council (CMC) and is a Board Member for The Filipino Community Center (Waipahu, HI). In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing golf, gardening, cooking and baking. When asked about what she loves about being an RN she replied “I enjoy seeing clients thrive in a home and community based setting…I was used to seeing clients in an acute setting."
